It’s been a time of turmoil and challenges since the pandemic was announced. Most everything seems controversial and exhausting. It’s causing people in our inner circles to disagree, creating division. I don’t know about you but my nerves are wearing thin.
I’m feeling more anxious, stressed and ready to leap into a negative attitude at any moment. Then the last couple of weeks with the deep freeze weather pattern really had me cranky and frustrated. Patience is a virtue, but mine is basically gone. I was constantly bracing for the next bit of bad news.
Thanks to the Lord, I realized I needed to take a deep breath, step back and re-focus my attitude. What can I control? All I can control are my actions and re-actions…thus an attitude adjustment is needed.
Attitudes I should be striving for…Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control. I need to work on living these attitudes out more effectively and using them to encourage and support those around me. I’m guessing I’m not the only one that could use some encouragement during these tough times.
I’m spending less time focusing on the crazy going on around me. Instead, focusing more time on striving for a new attitude in the mist of it. It’s a daily challenge but I’m feeling less anxious and stressed.
Let’s find a way to be kind and have patience with one another.
If you like to journal I’d recommend this prompt journal.
